Don't be afraid to add in strength

Don’t be afraid to add in strength training; strong is sexy.

There was a time I did zero strength training. I was made fun of for always being stronger than the boys in grade school due to all the hours I spent conditioning at gymnastics as a kid. Out of high school and all through college, I made a vow to myself that I wasn’t going to lift a single weight; I didn’t want to be seen as manly.

I wish I could slap some sense into my old self.

What I have come to realize is being STRONG IS SEXY AF, and if someone is intimidated by that, that is their own insecurity coming forward, and shouldn’t dictate how I live my life.

Ladies (and gentlemen):

Not only will strength training give you tone (you will NOT get bulky), you will become a faster runner. Start by adding in 30min once a week, and slowly add time and number of days. Give it a month and you will be surprised at the improvements you will see. Also, prioritize protein intake (shake is best) immediately after completing (might as well capitalize on the work you just put in.)
